TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

The notion of “human trafficking” is present in society during whole history. In the past the “trafficking with white slaves” notion was brought up, which existed through whole history of class society and depending on the development and character of its social and economic relations changed its phenomenological shapes and forms. This notion can be found in lot of international documents, which constantly are updated with new findings and dangers that this phenomenon causes. The fact remains that when we talk about this phenomenon we begin from the notion of slavery, which in its own contents it is a wide notion, but it also involves “trafficking with white slaves” as a form of women slavery for prostitution purposes. It is a matter of loosing freedom and independence in making decision for themselves, their own position and actions. We talk about severe, cruel exploitation of female bodies and their abuse in prostitution. It is obvious that when this phenomenon was determined by the “human trafficking” notion had narrower meaning.
Basically, the term of “women trafficking” precisely explains the notion that women and children are the most often victims. However, as “human rights” notion is used in international law rather than “women rights”, that way “human trafficking” is more often used in the terminology, although it is identified with the notion “women trafficking”.

Human trafficking is severe breaking of basic human rights by which the majority of the victims are women. Human trafficking is an international crime, that's why governmental and non-governmental organizations through whole world create policies and strategies to fight against human trafficking.
