Open Gate organized a study visit to the Netherlands in the period from December 12 to 15, 2022.
The purpose of the visit was the exchange of experiences and practices in the area of protection of victims of human trafficking and a visit to existing shelters and organizations that offer services for victims, in Amsterdam and The Hague.
The study visit was attended by representatives from the National Commission, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the National Referral Mechanism.
Within the framework of the visit, meetings were organized with various representatives of state institutions as well as non-governmental organizations with outstanding experience in the field of direct assistance and support to victims of human trafficking.
The goal was to apply the experiences and practices from the Netherlands in terms of expanding the existing capacities in the Republic of North Macedonia for assistance, support and care for victims of human trafficking, as well as the exchange of good practices from the existing shelters in the Netherlands for the care and protection of children, women and men, victims of human trafficking and experiences regarding their sustainability.
