La Strada International Statement Women’s Day 2025

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025, Open Gate/La Strada North Macedonia and
La Strada International jointly call for urgent action to prevent forced marriage as a criminal
offense and as a form of human trafficking. Together, we urge governments, institutions, and the
international community to ensure the effective transposition of EU directives, strengthen victim
support services, and implement prevention measures.
